Annual Program Curriculum

Registration for the 2024-2025 Season will open in June!

  • Tuesday, June 11 at 10am for returning students
  • Wednesday, June 12 at 10am for new students 

Join us for an in-person open house Sunday, June 23 from 10am-3pm at our 37 W65th St. location. Sample classes, meet staff, and try various levels and styles to find the right fit for your dancer! 

New students ages 9-18 must attend placement auditions Saturday, September 7.

ANNUAL PROGRAM

Our Annual Program runs from September through June, culminating with a showcase performed on a professional stage for friends and family. Dancers of all levels and ages can register for Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Jumps and Turns, Acro, and more!  In addition to working on technique each week, our dedicated faculty strive to nurture and develop a young dancer's creative side.

ANNUAL PROGRAM CURRICULUM

Dancers must be 3 by September 16, 2024

Ballet/Tap introduces rhythm and musicality, elementary ballet and tap skills, weight shifting, and imaginative movements.

Hip-Hop is a fusion dance genre that combines a variety of freestyle movements. This class will introduce rhythm and musicality to fun, upbeat music.

Dancers must be 5 by December 31, 2024

Ballet/Tap builds upon rhythm and musicality, elementary to intermediate ballet and tap skills, weight shifting, and imaginative movements.

Hip-Hop is a fusion dance genre that combines a variety of freestyle movements. This class will introduce rhythm and musicality to fun, upbeat music.

Jazz incorporates foundations of proper body alignment, technique, flexibility and classic jazz dance vocabulary with an upbeat rhythm-based style.

Ballet focuses on the foundations of proper body alignment, technique, and vocabulary. In this class dancers develop flexibility, coordination, and confidence. 

Tap combines rhythm and coordination to make music with the feet and body. Students will learn the basics of tap technique and musicality.

Dancers must be 7 by December 31, 2024

Jazz incorporates foundations of proper body alignment, technique, flexibility and classic jazz dance vocabulary with an upbeat rhythm-based style.

Musical Theater builds on the fundamentals of jazz technique while adding elements of acting and storytelling in the classic Broadway style.

Tap combines rhythm and coordination to make music with the feet and body. Students will learn the basics of tap technique and musicality.

Contemporary is a fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz technique that incorporates artistry and improvisation to create unconventional shapes, dynamics, and musicality.

Acro incorporates elements of both jazz and acrobatics instruction focusing on flexibility, tumbling, strength, and technique with an upbeat rhythm-based style.

Latin Jazz is a high energy class where students explore the rich diversity of traditional Latin dance styles through movement and rhythm.

Precision Jazz encompasses the foundations of jazz with a focus on lines, pathways and exactness of movement. 

Pointe encompasses both the mechanical and artistic aspects of pointe work. In particular, it is concerned with body alignment, placement of the feet, and the manner in which a dancer transitions to and from en pointe and the use of ballet technique while en pointe.

Pre-Pointe is preparation for pointe work. It is a gradual process that begins with barre exercises to develop the requisite strength in ankles, feet, legs, and core.

Trial Class Policy

Are you trying to decide which class to register for? Try a class of your choice for a fee of $35. If you decide to then register for that class, your trial fee will be deducted from your tuition!

No trial classes will be permitted after October 14, 2024.
