Cat Cogliandro, a native of Houston, Texas, grew up studying at Rowland School of Ballet under the direction of Sheryl Rowland. There, she trained with two prestigious pre-professional dance companies, and studied with choreographers Peter Chu, Jessica Hendricks, Tammy Dyke and JT Horenstein. After high school, Cat was accepted to The Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase and received her BFA in Dance. Since then, Cat has performed works by Loni Landon, Ellenore Scott, Jon Rua, Brice Mousset and Brook Notary. She performed a new work by Brice Mousset as a guest in Run The Night under the direction of Jared Grimes and in Sirens After Dark under the direction of Rhapsody James.

Cat was recently work-shopping The Last Goodbye, a hopeful for Broadway in 2013, under the direction of Alex Timbers, and choreographer, Sonya Tayeh. She is currently on faculty at Broadway Dance Center and is also teaching her third year in the Children/Teen Program at BDC. This year she was chosen to choreograph a contemporary piece on the Arts In Motion, a select few chosen from the Children/Teen Program, which will perform at prestigious New York venues including The Pulse on TOUR.

In class, Cat combines technique with an exploration of movement quality and close attention to musicality. Warm up consists of strengthening exercises, a series of stretches and five minutes of a "meditation" series. Combinations range between fast and slow, but are intended to push the dancer to dive in and discover a true intention behind their movement.
