Alison Levenberg is originally from England and trained professionally at the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts (now Bird College), London, graduating with Distinction, where she also gained teaching qualifications in the nationally taught I.S.T.D. syllabus.
She has performed on Broadway in the ensemble of “42nd St” Revival, appeared as ‘Janelle’ in the world premiere of “Gershwin’s An American in Paris”, Alley Theatre, Houston TX, and has been a Rockette in the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” in New York for the last four years, and is currently rehearsing for this year’s production.
She can also be seen in the movie “The Producers” featured as a ‘Tapping Brown Shirt’ in “Springtime for Hitler”, a ‘Pearl Girl’ and ‘Little Old Lady’. Regionally, Alison has performed and was Dance Captain at Pittsburgh CLO, her favorite shows there include “The Who’s Tommy”, “White Christmas” and “Cats”. She has also toured the US and Worldwide venues with “Spirit of the Dance” as ‘The Temptress’ and Assistant Dance Captain.
Alison is an accomplished tap teacher and coach, having had much experience in the UK before moving to the US and she continues to share her passion for tap through teaching at various schools and conventions in the tri-state area. Most recently, Alison offered her Tap Audition Intensive which she just repeated for a second time due to popular demand!
Her active involvement in musical theatre and relaxed style of class are a perfect combination to help gain the style and confidence necessary in performing tap technique.
