Class Descriptions

Street Jazz

A true collaboration of all techniques and styles of dance, Derek uses touches of jazz, cutting edge funk and the technical sharpness of jazz and hip-hop, Derek's extremely energetic and dynamic "pursy" and "hood" styles will challenge you to really "attack" each move. Routines are always kept for 2 weeks to allow the dancer to grow and let go in the choreography.

Commercial Contemporary

Derek incorporates and combines pedestrian, contemporary movements with classical jazz and ballet technique, to create an exquisite expression of music. He allows dancers to express their individuality, and the elements of the story through unique, challenging combinations. His class tests the ability of each dancer to speak without words or indications. Routines are frequently kept for 2 weeks to allow the dancer to grow, and to let go in the choreography.
