BDC founder, Richard Ellner, believed that dance was for everyone. With this vision of inclusivity, we are excited to offer The Richard Ellner Scholarship Program. Society and culture in the US have created barriers for people of color in many sectors, and unfortunately, theater and dance are not immune. We recognize that the cost of dance training can be one of those barriers for students who seek a career in dance.
Our program provides financial assistance towards the cost of classes for people of color.
Applicants are selected for a four-month term of study at Broadway Dance Center and will be able to take classes at a discounted rate during that time period.
Dancers may only participate in one scholarship session per year.
Applications for 2025 will open on Dec. 1, 2024.
