Anna Leigh Gortner (she/her) is a professional dancer and tumbler in NYC. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where she trained under Olympic coach Mary Lee Tracy as a J.O. Level 10 competitive gymnast for 6 years where during this time she was a 3 time national qualifier.

Class is designed to welcome all students from beginner tumblers to advanced tumblers! Students will explore new ways to build strength and discover new tips for tumbling on the stage. In class, students will work on perfecting basics as well as how to apply proper technique to more advanced tricks. From learning how to safely dive roll on stage to performing a perfect aerial with confidence students will have fun flipping upside down in a safe and judgement free environment!

This class focuses on maintaining characterization and fluidity in movement while incorporating acrobatics into choreography. Class begins with a short warm-up followed by 15 minutes of learning the mechanics of and practicing an acrobatic skill. The remaining hour of class is used for learning choreography and practicing incorporating that week's acrobatic skill into the combination. Students are encouraged to explore storytelling through athletic movement and work on building confidence in performing acrobatic tricks within the choreography. Class as always is a safe and judgement-free zone and all levels of acrobats are welcome!
