Zak Nemorin is a critically acclaimed choreographer, performer and filmmaker. He had the Original Concept and is Co-Creator / Additional Choreographer for UPROOTED: The Journey of Jazz Dance. After an almost twenty year career, appearing in seventeen Musical Theatre productions in the West End, around Europe and in North America, on TV and in Film, Zak turned his sights to being a creative, envisioning works for physical theatre companies in London, Edinburgh Festival and off Broadway. He choreographed Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at The Union Theatre, receiving an Offie Award finalist nomination for Best Choreographer and winning Best Musical 2020. He has also choreographed for TV’s Midsomer Murders and Agatha Raisin and is a sought- after teacher in and around Europe.
Hailed as one of the UK’s leading educators in Jazz Dance, Zak specialises in Matt Mattox based Isolation Technique and is Head of Dance at Millennium Performing Arts London, where he also trained. His most recent credit is a devised immersive Musical Theatre experience called Behind The Curtain, performed at The Victoria & Albert Museum as part of the V&A Performance Festival 2023. He is also Artistic Director for TheJazzCore Company, a spicy collective of dance artists devoted to the lineage and evolutions of Jazz Dance in all its forms.
