Alexa Luke

Alexa Luke is a Georgia native, currently living and working professionally in New York City. She received her early dance education in Georgia at Roswell City Dance under the direction of Shannon Childers, and went on to tour as an assistant with Intrigue Dance Convention. Alexa currently teaches regularly at multiple studios in NYC and the tristate area, as well as guest teaches and choreographs across the US and abroad. Alexa loves using opportunities to showcase students from her classes presenting work throughout NYC; a few of her favorite past performances include Sybarite NYC, Brickhouse Openhouse, Uptown Rising, and Deep Breath. Alexa is extremely committed to her work, and finds genuine fulfillment in discovering new ways to reach people and create connection through movement. She hopes to be ever-growing and ever-learning, continuously spreading her love for dance with those around her. Alexa is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to teach at Broadway Dance Center. This class focuses on learning phrases of choreography, working heavily on details and intricacies using musicality and timing to enhance the movement. Class will start with a warm up that leads into various improv exercises to start exploring different ways to move to the music. This class is designed for movers to expand their dance training and find growth within their movement.
