Emily’s goal is to create a process-driven, stress-free, and uplifting environment in all her classes. The class will begin with a progressive warm-up to prepare the mind, body, and spirit for movement. As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Emily strongly emphasizes the importance of functional movement to enhance the quality of dancing and artistry while reducing the risk of injury. The warm-up is a blend of technique, active stretching, stability drills, and strength exercises designed to get the blood circulating and activate essential muscle groups used within the combination. The warm-up will be followed by a brief center or an across-the-floor phrase, further priming the mind and body for movement. The class will conclude with set choreography emphasizing the creative process over perfection and exploring how musical elements can influence creative choices. The core of Emily’s class is centered on blending music and movement together as a powerful tool for release.
