This course will help you develop and hone foundational elements of singing as a form of expression. Whether you’re a dancer looking for more vocal confidence or a seasoned pro in need of an affordable vocal check-in, this group class is for you. With experience as a full-time voice teacher, musical director, and singing actor, Jeff will help you learn new material, work with an accompanist, and have fun singing with others! Each class follows a three-part structure. We will begin with extensive breathing and vocal exercises, focusing on the physical and mental relationship to your voice. The second part differs from class to class and works on a skill of the week, I.E. learning new music, harmony, contemporary vs. legit singing. Think of it as the voice class equivalent of the dance combo. The third act will focus on individual needs in a masterclass-style format. Want to practice- or observe- working with an accompanist in an audition setting? Have you been struggling with callback material? This time will be evenly distributed for students to receive feedback in an encouraging atmosphere.
