Marianne Wells is a New York-based voice teacher/vocal coach who has trained Broadway performers, Film/TV actors and Recording artists for 25 years. Her roster of clients include Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winners and nominees. She specializes in building a healthy voice with a solid vocal technique that can be applied to any style of singing. With her diverse background she helps students develop repertoire for ideal audition material from rock to classical. She is known for her ability to train Broadway ensemble singers/dancers to move into understudies and leading roles. She has also worked as a vocal coach on An American in Paris to develop the leading dancers as singing actors and is proud to have choreographers who study with her.
Marianne's students are currently in the casts of Hadestown, The Prom, The Cher Show, Tootsie, Beetlejuice, Dear Evan Hansen, Frozen, Watiress, Be More Chill, Hamilton, Come From Away, Kiss Me Kate, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, King Kong, CHICAGO, Phantom of the Opera, and the National Tours of Hello Dolly, An American in Paris, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Summer, Les Miserables as well as the upcoming productions of Moulin Rouge, Jagged Little Pill, Diana and Tina.
Marianne has worked as a vocal consultant in Film and TV in the US and Canada since the 90’s with Mr Holland's Opus, EVITA and The Fantasticks to GLEE, The Walking Dead, SMASH, American Idol and The Four. Her clients can be seen in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Fosse/Verdon, The Greatest Showman, RENT Live! and upcoming Steven Spielberg's West Side Story in leading roles and ensemble.
Marianne was the vocal coach for Josh Bergasse/BDC MTPP Intensive Workshops and has been on the faculty for Go Broadway and Tu Experiencia Broadway.
Marianne has multiple Grammy Award wining artists from Atlantic, Sony, Warner, Defjam, RCA, Disney, and works as a vocal producer.
