Join professional dancer and internet sensation, Sean Lew, in this hour-long choreography jam, followed by a 30 minute Q&A. Learn some of Sean's original choreography, and get the chance to chat with him about his journey and experiences in the professional dance world! This event will be held at the W65 Children and Teens Location.
At the age of 10, Sean Lew was growing not only as a professional dancer but also as an emerging choreographer. He began self-choreographing solos, winning special awards and first place overalls in national competitions, including Hall of Fame ’13, StarPower ’12, and ASH ’12. Soon enough, Sean started choreographing solos for other dancers, who also won multiple first place overalls. He then began broadening his teaching experiences by working with high schools in San Diego and Fullerton, CA. In addition, Sean hosted and taught a charity class called “Pray for Paloma”, which raised over $500.
Furthermore, his work extended to international students, as he trained dancers from Australia. This past summer, Sean also visited 3 cities in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, and Toyama. There, Sean had the pleasure of teaching dancers from En Dance Studio, Box Studios, and Toyama City Hall. Most recently, Sean had the opportunity to teach a “Crash Course” for the Build a Beast Experience 2016. He will continue to join them this fall in New York on The Road to BuildABeast.
Both as a dancer and choreographer, Sean is constantly growing and learning as he develops his own unique style. His work can be seen through his yearlong project on YouTube called CREATE; his project consists of a collection of videos, each representing a letter in CREATE and relating it to an esteemed quality. His choreography highlights both his strengths in creativity and musicality.
