Class Time: 5:45-7:45pm 

BDC Children & Teens' Project Broadway offers young performers ages 10-18 the experience of a lifetime. Imagine your child working to hone their theatrical skills alongside Broadway-caliber professionals while building relationships with casting directors and agents in New York City! Watch your child transform into the star they've always wanted to be by gaining invaluable experience working with instructors who have sent many young professionals on their path to Broadway! 

2 hour weekly class schedule will include:

  • Theater Dance in the styles of Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Hip-Hop
  • Stage Combat
  • Voice
  • Acting through Laban and Viewpoint Techniques
  • Musical Theater History

PLUS Master Classes in:

  • Business of Showbusiness
  • Audition Essentials
  • Broadway Choreography Series with current Broadway cast or creative
  • Mock Audition / Q&A with NYC Agent and Casting Director
  • and MORE!

PROJECT BROADWAY ATTENDANCE POLICY

  • Students are allowed a total of 2 absences for the entire program.
  • If more than 2 absences occur during the current semester, you may be asked to observe the final mock audition and parent showcase.
  • Absences include school testing, religious commitments, illness, family events, etc.
  • If your child has a planned absence, written documentation must be emailed to [email protected] prior to the event.
  • For their safety, your child will not be able to participate in class if they arrive more than 10 minutes late. They must observe the class and take notes. This will be strictly enforced.
  • We do not allow students to “make-up” missed classes due to capacity limitations, and you will be held responsible for payment, even if your child does not attend class.

 

PROJECT BROADWAY FACULTY
Justin Boccitto (Artistic Director/Choreographer) is an international dance instructor and an award-winning director/choreographer. He is a current faculty member at Broadway Dance Center, adjunct professor at CAP 21, Marymount Manhattan College, Circle in the Square Theatre School and guest faculty at The Juilliard School. Some of his students have included Adam Chanler-Berat (Peter and the Starcatcher, Amelie), Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus, NBC's Sound of Music), Oona Laurence (Matilda, Southpaw), Jennifer Damiano (Next To Normal, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark), Brian Falduto (School of Rock), as well as Sean Fosse (Bob Fosse's grandson) and Grammy winner, Lady Gaga. Justin appeared on television as a coach for MTV’s Made and has choreographed several Off-Broadway productions. He received the Kennedy Center Best Director Award for his production of Hairspray in Nashville and the NYMF Best in Fest Award for What Do Critics Know? He is co-director of the acclaimed youth theatre program, New Generation Theatre, running out of Rockland County for seven years and since 2003 he has served as executive producer of The Group Theatre Too, a theatre collective in Manhattan producing musicals, plays and dance projects throughout the country.

Refund Policy

  • Last day to drop/add W65 Spring Semester classes is February 24th, 2018
  • If you choose to drop a class prior to the February drop date, you are entitled to a pro-rated refund
  • No refunds will be given after this date
