Tara Durkin Children & Teens Bio

Tara Durkin is a movement artist based in NYC. A graduate of Broadway Dance Centers Children and Teen program, Tara has trained in commercial dance and further broadened her awareness of movement by diving into concert dance as well as somatic movement practices. She has trained with many leading professionals such as Jermaine Spivey, Spenser Theburge, Martha Nichols, Adi Salant, Sekou Heru, Erica Sobol and many more. Tara has been working with children of all age ranges for the past 7 years. It is her mission to make every child feel proud to be in their body and to encourage learning dance movement and history through play. Tara is very patient, she meets children where they are and works on building upon what is there, leaving each child feeling self assured and encouraged to further their learning. Tara is so excited to be joining BDC’s Children and Teen faculty this season!
