From 2013-18 she was a member of Vertical Ambition Dance Company, a company based in Flint, MI that specializes in hip-hop and contemporary. In 2014, Lauryn attended the Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center. Returning to Michigan to finish college she graduated from Oakland University in 2017 with a BA in Graphic Design and Professional Writing and continued teaching at Mt. Zion School of Performing Arts where her choreography won special recognition at regional competitions. In 2018, Lauryn moved to NYC to pursue performing opportunities and continue to teach and train there. For 2 semesters Lauryn taught for the organization Circle of Dance which brings dance to NYC public school students through 10-week residencies. She has taught at numerous studios in the tri-state area and currently works as a judge for True Talent dance competition.
Lauryn is also a dance historian who has written for the George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins Foundations and gives monthly dance history lectures to the residents of a senior living center in Manhattan. From teaching toddlers their first pliés to teaching senior adults about dance history, Lauryn is dedicated to making dance exciting and accessible to all.
