Brent McBeth (he/him) is a musical theater performer, teacher, dance competition judge, and choreographer from New York City. His tap and jazz styles are inspired by the MGM movie musicals (Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Elanore Powell), as well as the golden age of Broadway (Gower Champion, Bob Fosse). He pushes his dancers to focus on sound clarity, rhythmic accuracy, musical connection and storytelling through dance.
After graduating with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater (Sam Houston State), Brent served as dance captain of the international tour of Fosse (starring Ben Vereen and Ruthie Henshall). Other favorite performance credits include: Anything Goes (Arena Stage); White Christmas (cast recording); Thank You, Gregory (American Tap Dance Foundation); No, No, Nanette (NY City Center); Broadway By The Year (NY Town Hall); Big Apple Circus (two seasons as Skip, The Clown). He is a resident company member and choreographer for the Drama Desk-nominated NY theater company Parallel Exit, and his choreography has been seen in numerous festivals and theaters around the world. Brent has taught tap and musical theater jazz across the country; he has also judged and taught at multi-disciplined, national-level dance competitions and conventions for over 10 years.
