Jae Man Joo began training in classical ballet in Kwang-Ju, Korea, where he was born and raised. He also studied Modern dance and Korean traditional dance. After graduating from Dankook University in Seoul, he danced with a wide range of Korean dance companies including the Korea Contemporary Dance Company.
