Joey Tierno is beyond thrilled to be a part of the faculty here at Broadway Dance Center. Joey has been a part of the creative team for for Disney Cruise Line where he has taught and installed casts in shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Tangled, Disney Dreams, Believe, The Golden Mickeys, Twice Charmed and Once Upon A Song.
He most recently took part in the creation for Disney’s new holiday enhanced entertainment for their Very Merrytime Cruises. Joey also occasionally serves as the audition choreographer for the Walt Disney Company here in New York City. As a performer, he has performed on the national tour of The Wizard of Oz and performed in the Post-Broadway Regional Premiers of Tarzan and The Little Mermaid (Jetsam). In November 2022, he was a featured dancer for Disney in The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This past December, Joey performed original choreography in The Dancing Santas from The Judy Garland Show at Carnegie Hall (staged by Jason Wise) which marked the first time that number has been performed live onstage since being performed on Judy’s show in 1963.
Regional credits include Sharon Playhouse (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, High School Musical 2, The Music Man), Media Theatre (The Wizard of Oz), Arizona Broadway Theatre (Cats), Tuacahn Center for the Arts (Cats, Crazy For You, Grease) and a limited run of Footloose at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. Joey’s classes are all about creating a safe and FUN space for you to grow!
