Mel Charlot

Mel Charlot, known throughout the dance world as Charlot (charlô), got her start in Montreal, Canada, where she was born and raised. Whether in front of a camera, behind the scenes, or teaching a class, you’ll always feel her infectious energy. The Montreal native has perfected her craft as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer on an international level. Her talent speaks for itself and her years of experience as a teacher has allowed her to gain an international student base, helping to strengthen her skills and passion for teaching.

Signed with one of the industry’s top agencies, Bloc Talent Agency, Charlot had the opportunity to work alongside reputable artists for tours and galas. She’s had the pleasure of assisting and learning from choreographers such as Luam Keflezgy, Chonique and Lisette, Tanisha Scott, Rhapsody James, and more.

Charlot is always proud to represent her home country of Canada when she’s presented with opportunities such as being the only Montrealer in Wayne Cilento (Choreographer) and Kenny Leon’s (Director) Hip-Hop musical on Broadway, Holler If Ya Hear Me.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Mel Charlot continues to make her way with her ever-growing ambitions and talents, and continues to make her mark with her laughter, groove, creativity, and serious spunkiness. As a Monsters of Hip Hop Alumni, Mel Charlot is on faculty at Monsters-A-List. She can also be found on faculty as the Dance and Program Assistant for Motivating Excellence, a professional training program for the commercial dancers, created by top choreographer and artistic director Rhapsody James. Charlot is simply destined to mesmerize, inspire and follow God’s plan for her.
