Judson Emery began dancing at the age of eight at Atlas School of Dance, training in jazz, tap, hip hop and ballet. Judson Emery began dancing at the age of eight at Atlas School of Dance, training in jazz, tap, hip hop and ballet. He later joined Teen Dance Company, in Mountain View, CA, where he had the opportunity to work with such choreographers as Mia Michaels, Robert Battle, Jason Parsons, and Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo. Judson has also participated in summer programs at the Juilliard School, the LINES ballet school, the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and with Alonzo King for his professional workshop. Also, he managed to attend numerous dance conventions through the years and was always recognized for his unique movement quality.
At the age of 16 Judson travelled to Peru to perform in the Danza Nueva XX Festival with Mark Foehringer Dance Project of San Francisco. Professionally he has performed with Florence and the Machine on the MTV video music awards, Dancing with the Stars School of Rock and the Hold it Against Me music video with Britney Spears. Judson has assisted the Tyce Diorio and most recently Brian Friedman for So You Think You Can Dance and The PULSE On Tour.
He is currently the Co-Artistic Director at Nor Cal Dance Arts for their teen company "The Collective" and also teaches. His choreography has won various awards and praise for it's unique blend of technicality and eccentricity. His vast training and mastery of different styles allows Judson to constantly evolve his choreography as the music, dancers, space and other catalysts shape his movements quality and dynamics. Most recently Judson had the honor of choreographing the closing number at The PULSE on Tour's nationals Gala in New York City.
