Brianna Piatt Children & Teens Bio

Brianna Piatt is a board certified music therapist and licensed creative art therapist. She received her Masters degree in music therapy from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania. Brianna is currently employed with New York Presbyterian hospital at the Weill Cornell campus. She specifically works with patients in the NICU and other pediatric inpatient units. Brianna works closely alongside cutting edge doctors and nurses to use music to create a healing environment and reduce her patient's time in the hospital. Previously, Brianna has worked at New York City Children's Center in Queens, a psychiatric hospital for children. It was here that she created an "open-mic night", giving the children a safe space to express their creativity and passion. Brianna has over 7 years of experience working with children who have various mental, emotional, and physical needs. She has created specific music therapy groups in various locations to cater to each child. Brianna is also a certified children's yoga instructor. She recently attended the Dance Educator Development Workshop at Broadway Dance Center and has been a part of the Children and Teen Program for the last two years. Brianna is very excited about her classes this upcoming year, and is looking forward to bringing the healing power and the joys of music to the new 65th street location."
