Based in New York City, Jason Wise (he/him) has directed and choreographed over 20 productions around the world - most recently, Anything Goes (starring Sally Struthers and Andrea McArdle) at Gateway Playhouse and Ogunquit Playhouse. Other recent credits include Lifetime's Dance Moms (Season 5 -‘s Season 7), and serving as the choreographer for Mamma Mia! at ACT of Connecticut (under the Artistic Advisory of Stephen Schwartz), The Obsession of Calvin Clein at The Public Theater in New York, Bayside: THe Saved By The Bell Musical, The Wolf (World Premiere at Theater Raleigh) and Full House: The Musical starring Perez Hilton (Toronto and New York Off-Broadway Productions).
Jason has also staged musical numbers for Tony, Emmy, and Oscar-winning stars of the stage and screen including Karen Ziemba, Brent Barrett, Lee Roy Reams, Maureen McGovern, Karen Akers, Donna McKechnie, Faith Prince, Leslie Uggams, Ryan Raftery, Cole Escola, Christine Andreas, Jackie Hoffman, Bridget Everett, Madeleine Brewer, Julia Murney, Shari Sanders, Stephanie J. Block, Megan McGinnis, Paige Davis, Dustin Diamond, Howard McGillin, Dennis Haskins, Ed Alonzo, Ashley Brown, Andrea Martin, Billy Porter, Linda Lavin, Tovah Feldshuh, Tonya Pinkins, and Perez Hilton.
Film and Television: The Wolf of Wall Street (Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and Directed by Martin Scorsese), SMASH (NBC), Pan Am (ABC), The Amazing Spiderman 2, The Normal Heart (HBO) and appears alongside Rufus Wainwright and Joey Luft in the Documentary Judy Garland: Too Young To Die (Netflix). Jason is the Former Resident Choreographer at Ellen's Stardust Diner, home to New York's world famous singing wait staff.
Jason has served on the faculty at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York), The Joffrey Ballet School (New York), The Kent School (Connecticut), National Ballet School (Toronto), CAP 21 (New York) and The Pineapple (London). Co-author and illustrator of the award-winning children's book, The United States of Kip.
National tours include 800 Performances as Tumblebrutus in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS (US, Canada, Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela) and Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Carpet).
Jason was mentored by Tony Award winners, Thommie Walsh and Tommy Tune.
