Lizz Picini moved to New York City just one week after graduating from Towson University with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance. After completing the Broadway Dance Center Summer Internship Program (now the Summer Professional Semester), she began actively training and working at Broadway Dance Center while assisting various choreographers.
Lizz’s favorite credits include On The Town at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, directed and choreographed by Brett Smock, and West Side Story at Ogunquit Playhouse, choreographed by Jeffry Denman. She also had the honor of dancing with the Spangles Dance Company in the 86th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade under the direction of Richard J. Hinds. Lizz was selected to perform in the opening number of both the 27th and 28th Annual Broadway Cares Easter Bonnet Competition at the Minskoff Theatre, choreographed by Al Blackstone. Some of her other credits include several appearances on Good Morning America, the world premiere of Caesar’s Wife the Unfinished Musical with Unsung Musicals Company and Career Transition for Dancers at City Center.
Lizz is incredibly passionate about this industry and welcomes any and every opportunity to pour into others and help educate. Through teaching, Lizz develops and enhances her students’ dance skills as she provides valuable insight, clear instruction and solid encouragement to those genuinely following their dreams. While her classes are not auditions, the material she covers in class will separate her students from others at their auditions.
She is incredibly thankful to be in this beautiful city living the dream!
